An update on Jimmy....

The following post was copied from an article in the St. Paul Pioneer Press 8/4/2005 BY KYMBERLI HAGELBERG Knight Ridder News Service...

"Madelon Alunni approached the wall with mixed feelings.

As other families in the 25th learned of their loss, she received news that her son, though seriously wounded, would survive.

"For 24 hours, I didn't know if he was alive or dead," Alunni said.
"Monday night, the Marines called to say he was VSI" — very seriously injured.

James Alunni, 34, is a firefighter from Chagrin Falls attached to the Brook Park Marines as a Navy medical corpsman. He was in the city of Hit, about 95 miles from Haditha, when he was injured by a suicide bomber in a vehicle. A Marine sergeant from Oklahoma died in that blast.

Alunni said her son sustained injuries to his upper body. He is conscious in his hospital room in Germany, but cannot speak because he was given a tracheotomy.

On Wednesday, she and her husband spoke to him by telephone.
"He couldn't talk, but he's improving," Alunni said. "I was named after a nun. Today, I guess it paid off."

After speaking to her son, Alunni said, she knew what she needed to do next. She got into her car and headed for the 25th."

Gracie Goes to Work

Lucky me :) Grace will be keeping me company at the office today. She has plenty of play room! Maybe I should set up a crib in my office permanently? That would take care of the whole day care issue, huh? Jim, ok with you? It's CHEAPER!!!!

Forgot to mention, we took Grace to her four month check up last week.
She's is as follows:
15 lbs 14 oz
25.5 inches long
16.75 head circumference
90% height & 90% weight
Doing just fine and growing like a weed :)

Been so busy with the move of IdeaStar that I haven't had a chance to update Gracie's blog. So much to tell, like she's sprouted TWO teeth. She's sitting up. She's eating rice cereal. She's attempting to crawl by getting up on all fours. Amazing Grace! I will send pictures as soon as humanly possible!!!

Lucky Girl...

...to have a daddy that loves her so much!!!

Daddy is at CFFD today. Mommy is getting ready for work. Grace will spend today with Ama & Papa. They are taking Auntie Christy to the airport to visit Auntie Sara and UhJuh. Such a busy schedule for such a little girl. Hope everyone had an awesome Fourth! Happy belated birthday to Jessica & Jodi!!!!
